These days we hardly find a person who is so respectable that when it comes to him, you will automatically bow your head. Its very difficult to see such a dedication & love towards shivaji maharaj that he can talk about raje & his life very authoritatively. His words are not only an inspiration to us but will encourage all our next generations. Really great choice of words and the way they're presented. Felt very fulfilling and proud after reading this set of two books.
The way people in Maharashtra worship Dnaneshwari, Gatha of Saint Tukaram, 'Raja Shivchhatrapati ' by Babasaheb Purandare is worshipped the same way. It is studied and read all over the world and passed to the next generation as it is a source of inspiration for all. I love this book from my childhood. I consider this one of the best book I read so far. It gives great pleasure, inspiration while reading and after reading this book. You do not feel you are reading the past but you live in that history of Shivaji Maharaj. Author of this book Shri Babasaheb Purndare has devoted his life for Raja Shivaji. It is a masterpiece of historical literature. A very amazing combination of history and literature. Each and every fact is accompanied by the historical reference. The language used in the book is very appealing. The author of this book has been doing research since 50 years on Maratha History and specifically on Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. And it all is consisted in this masterpiece.
Great novel...
Almost all main sentences in the book has references, it means the book does not contains imaginary sentences and information.
However the book is more informational one. It don't give that kind of feeling which exist between other books like mrutyunjay, yugandhar, chhava.etc.

Bestest Book on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj I have ever read. Fluent and perfect marathi to make us visualize the scene beautifully in front of our eyes.

There is an english translation of the book, which I've read.
Could not have been a better written book if not by Babasaheb Purandare. Superb narration.
A must read for every Maharashtrian. Best book on Raje Shivaji.

This book took me to all places where raja Shivaji conquered. I am enlightened and capable to talk on the history of raja Shivaji.
