The right side output is distorted. It comes with the original Owners manual. Do to a question I received, I want to explain something better. I don't package heavy electronics myself. I have that done by the professionals at the UPS store when I ship an Item. Also, EBay's shipping calculator is well known for being inaccurate and under estimating shipping charges. The last time I sold an item it was off by 35% and the item was shipped from New York to Washington state. My loss was greater than the item sold for, by quite a bit. I'm not looking to make that back, but I'm not looking to do it again. If I've overestimated the shipping charges I'll refund any amount over the actual cost. The packaging fee is fair. I had to return a power amp I bought for myself and to return it I had to have it repacked at my expense and that's what UPS charged me. Counterpoint SA-220 As Is - For Parts or Restoration I am selling this amplifier for a friend. He was using it and all of a sudden smoke started to come out of the unit. He immediately shut it down and unpluged it. He asked me to look it over. I openned the unit and was surprised to see how clean it was. After a very careful examination, I could not find any signs of burning, or scorching. Upon closer inspection I found that resister R40 on one of the output channel cards had indeed burn up. My friend asked if I would fix it and I declined since my expertise is in tube amplifiers and I have limited knowledge of MOSFET's, or MOSFET amplifier circuits. He then asked if I would sell it for him 'as is' and that is what I am doing. This is a robust, well made piece of equipment and is a great candidate for repair and/or restoration. It could also be used for the basis of a custom all tube or solid state amplifier if someone wants a great chassis, power supply and tube driver section. All 6DJ8's are Amperex and are made in Holland. The power transformer is guaranteed. Successful high bidder will receive a very well made amplifier that would cost many thousands of dollars to replicate today.
